On keeping notes and shipping articles

Most blogs die of friction. You have a thought, but publishing it means wrestling with tooling, so the thought stays in a notes app forever.

My fix is to separate the two activities. Notes are where thinking happens — fast, messy, no audience. Articles are the small fraction of notes worth polishing for other people.

The pipeline between them is intentionally short:

  1. Write notes while I work, wherever is convenient.
  2. When a note is worth sharing, hand it to an agent with the site’s conventions.
  3. Review the draft, tweak the voice, publish.

The site is designed so step 2 is trivial: one Markdown file, a few frontmatter fields, and a draft flag that keeps work-in-progress out of production until I flip it. Nothing else stands between a good idea and a published post.
